1 Month Later, the iPhone 15 is Still an Excellent Upgrade

A closer look at battery life and charging
I’ve been using the standard iPhone 15 for almost a month. The standard iPhone 15 impresses with its all-day battery life, providing ample power to keep you connected, productive, and entertained without the need for frequent recharging. Whether you’re streaming videos, engaging in social media, or navigating with GPS, the iPhone 15’s battery life stands as a testament to Apple’s commitment to delivering a reliable and enduring user experience.
Moreover, The iPhone 15 Pro, with its slightly larger battery capacity and potential energy optimizations, takes the endurance game a step further. Users can expect extended usage periods, making it an ideal companion for those who rely heavily on their smartphones throughout the day.
Both models introduce advancements in charging technologies, aiming to minimize downtime and keep users connected when needed most. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro support fast charging, allowing users to replenish their device’s battery with compatible power adapters quickly.

iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus battery life
Apple usually strives to improve battery life with each new iPhone release. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are expected to offer optimized energy efficiency, providing users with a longer-lasting battery for everyday use.
The standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus is likely to feature an all-day battery life, with improvements in energy efficiency and optimizations in both hardware and software. Users can expect the device to handle a mix of tasks, including web browsing, streaming, and productivity applications, without the need for frequent recharging. The exact battery life will depend on various factors, such as screen-on time, usage patterns, and background processes.
iPhone 15 and 15 Plus support 7.5W charging when using a standard Qi wireless charger and 15W when using a MagSafe charger. The iPhone 15 Plus only charged 5% of its battery after charging for 30 minutes using a Qi wireless charger. However, when using a Belkin MagSafe wireless charging stand, the figure increased from 65% to 86%. MagSafe charging technology not only provides a faster charging speed but may also contribute to better heat dissipation.
The smaller iPhone 15 charged slightly faster with a Qi wireless charger, going from 15% to 28% in 30 minutes. But like its older brother, it filled its battery much faster when charged via MagSafe. After half an hour it went from 30% to 50%.
The iPhone 15 makes it easier to find your friends

Camera, Dynamic Island, and other features
In my first iPhone 15 review, I covered the new 48-megapixel camera, Dynamic Island, USB-C, and overall performance. However, now that I’ve spent more time with the device, I’d like to share a few additional thoughts.
Camera:
Apple consistently focuses on improving camera technology in its iPhone releases. The iPhone 15 comes with enhancements to the camera system, including improvements in sensor technology, image processing, and additional features for both photography and videography.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max will get a new periscope camera. A periscope camera lens, typically associated with smartphones, is a specialized optical system that allows for increased optical zoom capabilities without significantly increasing the thickness of the device. It achieves this by using a complex arrangement of mirrors and lenses to extend the light path. Smartphones with periscope lenses can provide high levels of optical zoom, enhancing the device’s photography capabilities, especially when capturing distant subjects.
Dynamic Island:
Dynamic Island is a new feature introduced in the iPhone 15, and it’s designed to enhance multitasking, it could imply a dynamic and interactive element in the user interface or software that facilitates a more efficient multitasking experience.
USB-C port:
The USB-C port allows you to connect devices such as CarPlay-compatible cards, external storage devices, microphones, batteries, SD card adapters, etc. In addition, the new connector solves the connection problem that the iPhone has had for years.
Support Wi-Fi 6E:
iPhone 15 supports Wi-Fi 6E, representing an advancement in wireless connectivity. Wi-Fi 6E is an extension of Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) that operates in the newly available 6 GHz band. This additional spectrum offers increased bandwidth and less interference compared to the existing 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands used by previous Wi-Fi standards.
