In 1979, Brake Specialists, a family-owned and locally-operated auto repair center in Austin, TX, first opened its garage doors. Brake Specialists was founded upon the principle of providing quality, reliable auto repair services, and excellent customer service. Because of this principle, by the late 1980’s Brake Specialists had already grown to four locations in the Austin area. We continued to establish ourselves as the go-to brake repair specialists in the Austin area. Our passion for quality service and repair and our customers has helped us to grow, not only in locations but in loyal customers. We’ve learned that our customer service is just as important as our service expertise. Often it’s much more important. Think about your last visit to an auto repair shop. Chances are you remember the people in the shop and how you were treated more than you do the actual service you received. Our team knows that we’re servicing vehicles but we’re serving people and meeting their needs.

As the automotive repair industry evolved in the early ’90s, so did Brake Specialists. We grew along with Austin and added four more stores between 1990 and 1997. Just like Austin, we are still growing. We added new locations in Cedar Park (1999), Buda (2006), Lakeway (2007), and Leander (2019), with more on the horizon. Furthermore, in 2014, we updated our name of 33 years from Brake Specialists to Austin’s Automotive Specialists to encompass everything we do…which is a lot! We encourage all Austin motorists to bring their vehicles to a shop that has proven its value to this community over and over.
